Ebay item 11/10/09 cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-X-Type-XKE-1966-Jaguar-XKE-convertible_W0QQcmdZVi ...
Current bid $16,900 reserve not met, 2 bids 1 day left in auction.
Sellers description:
1966 Jaguar XKE modified with a Ford 302 motor and five speed manual transmission. I have owned this vehicle for more than ten years. The body has been stripped, sheet metal repaired, and the entire vehicle repainted in burgundy red. The chrome was refinished by Nu-Chrome in New Bedford, MA. There is a new convertible top, and I have the factory hard top which has been sprayed to match the car. The wheels are Dayton spokes - I also have the original Jag aluminum spokes which were I believe standard equipment. The clutch is new as of this summer (2009). The car needs an exhaust system to pass inspection - the last time I had it inspected was 2006. It is registered and insured - I have driven it to and from my mechanic's shop. This is a Cobra in disguise.
The paint needs to be buffed to be perfect - there is a very tiny crease in the side of the hood (bonnet) (driver's side) lower down. The speedometer is sluggish - the tach does not work (probably as a result of the Ford conversion). Interior is good - no rips in seat or dash pad. Two toggle switches on dash do not match - one does not function. Stone nick in windshield (was there when I bought it if I remember correctly). Reason I am selling - my daughter (only child) is getting married in 2010 - need I say more? The price is $25,000.
