Car to be at auction 7/14
    www.silverstoneauctions.com/1966-jaguar-e-type-series-i-42-roadster

    Auction description:
    Silverstone Classic Sale
    1966 Jaguar E-Type Series I 4.2 Roadster
    Lot No.: TBA
    Registration: HDV 296D
    Chassis Number: LE12357
    Engine Number: 7E534929
    Number of cylinders: 6
    CC: 4235cc
    Year of Manufacture: 1966
    Estimate (£): 70,000 - 90,000
Originally delivered in lefthand drive guise for the export market this charming 'E' was repatriated in 1990/91 whereupon a full photographic restoration and left to righthand drive conversion was undertaken. This was executed to an especially high and uncompromising standard by D.J Engineering of Hitchin, Hertfordshire as the accompanying photographs prove. At this time the car was fully stripped and repainted - including the underside - and likewise, the engine was stripped and rebuilt. Upon completion, the car was put back to the road and MoT'd, the report at this time showing a mileage of just 62,300. By 2001/02 this had risen to only 65,272, and remarkably, the mileage now reads just 65,731.
Despite being used very little, don't mistake this to mean it has been poorly cared for. Throughout this time it has been correctly stored, regularly started and run up to temperature and often moved to discourage flat-spotting on the tyres. Further to this, in July 2012 (at 65,706 miles), the car was taken to Snow & Stephens of Exeter to be given a "full bill of health" and an underside respray to preserve its graceful aging at a cost of £3,993.95. The current MoT for this car is granted until September 2014.
This truly is an enchanting car. She's not a show queen, but then who want's one of those anyway? The stance of this E-Type is as near to perfect as we've seen, the complementing Opalescent paint against the Blue leather interior is magnificent and the sound emitted from that exhaust under power from the engine is unbeatable.
If you hold even a casual interest in owning an E-Type Roadster then we cannot urge you strongly enough to consider this car. Just delightful.

Looks like a different car to me - notice the mileage difference between auctions -!

I suspect they are different cars but which one. Until we know they both stay.

Finished in Opalescent Light Blue with Blue interior trim, this is a first class example, with excellent panel fit and driving beautifully. Imported from the USA and converted to Right Hand Drive, this particular car was selected by its owner on the basis of its exceptional structure.

Having been fettled by ourselves we are delighted to be able to offer it for sale with confidence!
