Ebay item 8/11/09 years. At that time the car had was completed but needed the bugs worked out of it.I was brought in, to accomplish the task and put the car into specs on all dimension according to the original manufacturer.. The finishing touches on this 100 point show car was very time consuming.Every piece on the car was removed inspected ,refurbished and refitted. The wiring was replaced with all new including all the the fuse boxes.... if you lift the carpet up you will see the floors look as nice as the exterior paint for example, All the brakes were rebuilt to factory race specs, Each caliper was restored by the trained professional according to the jag specification, Even the original shocks were rebuilt, all the suspension was rebuilt and new torsion bars were installed to achieve the factory issued ride height. The list goes on and on.... FIVE NEW chrome plated hubs and spoke wheel rims and factory issued original tires are new. All the chrome was replated, all bumpers and all the chrome hardware, windshield etc, were all triple chrome plated. The rear bumper push bar was added not to touch the body when moving the car by hand. The glass is all new,the interior is tan biscuit leather and it is all new the dash and carpets and door panel and convertible Black canvas TOP are all new. The interior is wonderful in every little detail Even the radio works. All the gauges have been rebuilt and calibrated to be mint condition and accurate. The original engine, trans, and Rear are complete original units, they were removed rebuilt and reinstalled to the highest quality for show and go. The coach work and paint is over the top by most standards. The car has had a complete frame off restoration effort with no expense avoided. The car is stunning and I certify that it is an original in every aspect and restored to a much higher level than you could expect. The car is capable of speeds in excess of 150mph as it sits,Its a wonderful car to drive .I upgraded the ignition to electronic with out points to make it 100% reliable. I removed each carb, cleaned, rebuilt and calibrated and polished as jewelry and then refitted.. The fuel tank was removed ,acid dipped and repainted to show quality and then refitted..... All new complete factory exhaust system from front to back, Also added a coolant recovery tank to keep things clean under the hood.. Other than this the car is original... and like new.... Little things that most people don't get around to doing after a car is restored to this level require an attention to detail to make it correct ..I took the time to replace the seat tracks so they would be easy to operate. Also added seat belts with shoulder restraint.. The car is.better than it was back in 1966. Lucky bidder will be proud of the fine craftsmanship through out the complete car. I have much more pictures of any aspect of the car if desired.
....The buy it now price of 149,000 may seem like a bundle to some, but its worth it.The cost of quality craftsmanship and time and labor to restore any E type to this level can be in excess of 200.000. You are buying a new 1966 E-TYPE in this listing.
...the car has been in dry temperature controlled garage for the last 7 years and is looking for a new home.....I am offering a certificate of knowledge and proof of what I am offering is 100% true....Thank you for looking at my auction and please tell a friend of the nicest 66 E-type in the WORLD.......

Car to be at auction 8/15
russoandsteele.com/vehicle-details/
Auction description:
1966 Jaguar E-type Roadster
Consignment # 4005
VIN #1E12909
Vehicle to be offered for Auction sale August 13th 15th, 2015 at Russo and Steele's 15th Annual Monterey California Auction.
This outstanding Series I XKE roadster from 1966 continues to benefit handsomely from a fully documented and complete bare-metal, body-off restoration and full engine rebuild to factory specifications plus welcome upgrades including a coolant-recovery tank, electronic ignition, and aluminum flywheel for enhanced performance and reliability. The restoration was completed in 2002 and thereafter, the car was acquired by a new owner, through whom it passed to the Consignor in 2012. Having enjoyed continuous maintenance and sparing enjoyment since the restoration was finished, this stellar XKE has covered less than 6,000 miles over the past 13 years.
Riding on a set of highly drivable Dayton wire wheels mounting KH16 Kumho tires, this outstanding XKE roadster is accompanied at auction by a full set of original wire-spoke wheels shod with Dunlop SP tires. The Consignor advises the car is a fabulous driver with performance belying its near 50 years of existence. Additional items include a Covercraft custom car cover and a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate confirming its original data. In short, it marks a superb and investment-grade, yet highly enjoyable example as originally intended of Jaguars immensely collectible and fast-appreciating Series I XKE.

A car with plate 1 XKE appeared late 2017 at the Dix Mille Tours races at Paul Ricard. It was driven by Carlos Monteverde and Gary Pearson, and is a lookalike to 1 TDF (878454) which they raced until the end of 2015. That car was crashed serioulsy, and may be a new one was built up, but I have no confimation of that. I'll keep you posted if the car reappears.

correction, the new car carries the plate XKE 1 so it is unlikely to be the car here.
