This 1966 Jaguar XKE Series I roadster was purchased new by a US Servicemember in Germany and was acquired by the seller in 2021 from its previous owner of 35 years. A rotisserie refurbishment was completed in 2025, with work that included a bare-metal repaint in Jaguar Dark Blue, reupholstering the interior, replacing the shocks and springs, and overhauling the brakes. The car is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six linked to a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Equipment includes a black soft top, a soft top boot, enclosed headlights, 15″ wire-spoke steel wheels, power-assisted disc brakes, triple windshield wipers, and a period-style AM/FM radio with Bluetooth. This XKE Series I roadster is now offered with a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, spare parts, and Georgia registration in the name of the seller’s LLC, listing it as a 1967 model.
The Series I E-Types were equipped with covered headlights and taillights mounted above the chrome rear bumpers. This example came finished from the factory in Cream and in 2025, was mounted to a rotisserie, stripped to bare metal, and repainted in Jaguar Dark Blue (529) using PPG paint products (13141). Brightwork was re-chromed or replaced where necessary, and the exterior seals, lenses, and headlight housings were replaced.
Replacement 15″ Dayton wire wheels are secured by two-eared knock-offs and are mounted with 185VR15 Vredestein tires. The four-wheel disc brakes were overhauled during the refurbishment, including replacement of the master cylinder, calipers, rotors, booster, and lines. Koni shocks and replacement springs were also added along with an adjustable torsion bar.
The bucket seats were fitted with replacement foam padding and re-covered in blue leather during the refurbishment. The armrests, seat hardware, carpeting, and sun visors were also replaced, and a period-style push-button AM/FM radio with Bluetooth was added along with a replacement ignition switch, heater components, gear lever and gaiter, and handbrake.
The factory wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a Smiths 160-mph speedometer and 6k-rpm tachometer, while auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage are located in the center of the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 69k miles, approximately 100 of which were added under current ownership.
The 4.2-liter inline-six features triple SU carburetors and was factory rated at 265 horsepower and 283 lb-ft of torque. The valve covers were refinished during the refurbishment, and additional work involved installing an aluminum radiator and replacing the hood pad, wiring harnesses, fuel lines, and ignition coil.
The cylinder head stamp reads 7E92242-9, and a corresponding number is stamped on the engine block and listed on the Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a full-synchromesh four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. A stainless-steel exhaust system was installed under current ownership.
The Jaguar Heritage Trust Production Record Trace certificate shows the original colors and drivetrain numbers as well as a build date of May 26, 1966.
