This 1967 Jaguar XKE Series I roadster spent time in Florida before being purchased by the seller in 2004, and subsequent refurbishment work involved rebuilding the 4.2-liter inline-six, redoing the blue leather interior, and replacing the blue soft top. Finished in Opalescent Silver Blue, the car is equipped with a four-speed manual transmission, a limited-slip differential, 15″ wire wheels, Wilwood front disc brakes, triple SU carburetors, an aluminum radiator, a PerTronix ignition coil, enclosed headlights, a Kenwood CD stereo, and Infinity speakers. The seller states that the tires, battery, and fluids were replaced in 2023 and aluminum parts on the engine were polished. This XKE roadster is now offered with manufacturer’s literature and a clean Georgia title in the seller’s name.
Series I E-Types were equipped with covered headlights and taillights mounted above the chrome rear bumpers. The seller states that this example is finished in Opalescent Silver Blue. Equipment includes a blue soft top, enclosed headlights, a louvered clamshell hood, wraparound chrome bumpers, bright trim, a driver-side mirror, triple windshield wipers, and dual exhaust outlets.
Chrome-finished 15″ wire wheels are mounted with 185/70 Vredestein Sprint Classic tires that were installed in 2023, according to the seller. Braking is provided by four-wheel discs, with Wilwood front calipers and inboard rear rotors.
The cabin was refurbished in 2004, the seller tells us. Bucket seats upholstered in blue leather are complemented by a color-coordinated center console, door panels, and carpeting. Interior appointments include black vinyl dash trim, a sliding rearview mirror, a Kenwood CD stereo, Infinity speakers, and a heater.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a Smiths 160-mph speedometer and 6k-rpm tachometer, while auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage are located at the center of the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 64k miles, approximately 5k of which were added under current ownership.
The 4.2-liter inline-six features triple SU carburetors and was factory rated at 265 horsepower and 283 lb-ft of torque. The engine is said to have been rebuilt in 2004. An aluminum radiator and a PerTronix ignition coil have been installed. In 2023, aluminum engine parts were polished, the battery was replaced, and the fluids and filters were changed.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a full-synchromesh four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.
