For sale at Watley Classics of Winchester for £89,990, Abbreviated seller's description below.

www.watleyclassics.com/2024/12/23/1965-jaguar-e-type-series-1-4-2-fhc/

This car was manufactured on 14 April 1965 and dispatched to Hoffman's of Halifax on 3 May. Originally finished in Opalescent Silver Grey with Red trim. The first owner taking delivery in late August of the same year. The current owner bought it from the Classic Car Club of London in August 1988, at that point the car had been subject to an older restoration, the colour being changed to Old English White during the process.

Upon taking custody the owner conducted a complete nut and bolt restoration including a number of modifications, fitting a walnut veneer instrument fascia, glovebox lid and door cappings; you would assume they were factory fitted, such is the design and execution. A small rear seat, like a shelf being fitted to the highest standard. These could be reversed but we feel that they are part of the car's history.

As you can see from the photos, this wonderful example looks factory fresh and drives as it looks. We haven't seen an E Type with such precise panel gaps in a long time, the doors, bonnet and hatch close with absolute precision. The car won the Jaguar Owners Club awards in 2000 and 2004, testimony to the perfection of the build undertaken. The car looks as good today as it did over 20 years ago, being kept in a climate controlled environment.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
