    Chassis No. 1E30131
    Estimate: $80,000-$100,000 US
To be auctioned on Friday, January 22, 2010

Finished in Opalescent Green with a tan leather interior, this E-Type Fixed Head Coupe recently underwent a comprehensive nut-and-bolt restoration by the marque specialists at Classic Showcase in California. After the extensive restoration, the car is reported to be in high-level driver condition. The vehicle was completely disassembled and carefully inspected before the body was stripped to bare metal, finished, fitted, re-painted and color sanded and buffed.

With countless E-Type restorations to their credit, Classic Showcase is considered an industry leading restoration facility. All systems and components were thoroughly gone through, including all mechanicals, electrical systems, fuel systems and cooling systems. Additionally, the car received a new wire loom, windshield and door glass, sending unit, fuel pump, hard and soft lines for the fuel system and hydraulic system, exhaust system, and clutch system; all suspension components were replaced as well.

The mechanical work alone required considerable investment. The engine, transmission and rear end were disassembled and rebuilt to factory-correct specifications. The block and head were rebuilt as well, along with the carburetors, and the flywheel was balanced while the gas tank was hot tanked and epoxy sealed. The vehicle also received a new header tank. All instruments were restored as well as the rotors and the radiator. Additionally, this E-Type also received all new seals, rubber and grommets.

Restoration of the interior was also conducted by Classic Showcase to include new upholstery, seats, panels, headliner and carpeting, which were custom fitted and installed. The finished result is spectacular and the color combination of Opalescent Dark Green with tan leather is a timeless pairing. A DVD of the restoration process will accompany the car as well. This is a great Jaguar for a collector who wants a vehicle to drive, enjoy and even show. Since completion, it has been driven about 100 miles to be prepared and set up for its new owner.

Wonderfully restored with classic British Racing Green Exterior over a cognac interior

Documented by a Jaguar Heritage Trust Production Record Trace Certificate, restoration photographs, and invoices

Completed in the first month of 4.2-liter production, this 1965 Jaguar E-Type Roadster left the factory bound for the United States in October 1964. The exterior originally featured Opalescent Maroon paint with a Black interior, according to the Jaguar Heritage Trust Production Record Trace certificate on file.

Now finished in a classic scheme of British Racing Green over a cognac leather interior, this Jaguar was the recipient of a concours-quality rotisserie restoration in 2009. Photos from this project confirm the E-Type was completely disassembled, refinished, and reassembled to an incredibly high standard. As such, this handsome coupe shows in spectacular condition to this day. In 2013, the Jaguar entered the Dare to Dream Collection and, an invoice on file shows the carburetors were rebuilt in 2019. At the same time, the electrical system was also serviced.
