Ebay item 12/17/07 cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-1965-Jaguar-XKE-Coupe_W0QQitemZ170179229527
Opening bid $2,500 reserve not met, no bids yet, 6 days left in auction.
Sellers description:
The car is located in Chicago. This was a project car that I started to restore, but I have not have enough time to finish. I have almost a complete set of parts needed to finish. These include: exhaust system, extra doors, assorted body parts, turn signal indicators, all glass, seats. The engine has been rebuilt by me several years ago and has been sitting in the garage ever sine. The rear end has been reconditioned and brakes have been installed. The car needs body work (all surfaces have been prepped and primed), paint, and engine installation. I have Illinois title. VIN# is 1E30424 Truly a beautiful car once it is restored.

This car, or at least a car with this same number, is on ebay, March 2008. They look like two completely different cars to me, and I would guess the "black" car is the "real" machine, but who knows. cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-Jaguar-Series-I-1965-XKE-4-2-Litre-Coupe_W ...
Ad reads:
"This 1965 4.2 E-type is a true coupe and is the most desirable coupe made. It has the 4.2 liter engine with the tri-carb set up, the covered headlights and the synchro mesh gearbox. This is a fully matching number car. Block, head, gearbox and body all match. There is a clear title for the car. 3 years ago the engine and rear end were rebuilt. New brakes and brake rotors were also installed in the front and the rear. The owner passed away and the car restoration was never finished. The engine has never been run since the rebuild. The car will need a wiring loom. This is the reason why the engine has never ran. The car is missing the front windshield and the lower bonnet valance. Some body work had been started for example new floors have been installed. The car will need outer sills, the inner sills seem fine. The seats are in good condition there are no rips, the leather is just dry. Obviously the car will need the restoration to be finished."

That damage behind the front door to the rear wheel well about halfway up the body looks very similar. Looks like the car was given a coat of primer and had some reassembly between the two auctions?
