NUMBERS MATCHING - LOW MILES - 4.2L

This is your chance at a numbers matching 1964 Jaguar E-Type Coupe Series 1. Finished in Imperial Maroon with a black leather interior, this car boasts only 42,242 miles. One of the last of the "Series 1" E-Types, this model comes equipped with a 4.2L inline-six with a triple SU carburetor setup, a 4-speed synchromesh manual transmission, manual choke and factory air conditioning.

Car number - 1E31547
Body number - 4E22476
Engine number - 7E5310-9
Gearbox number - EJ4409

Previously owned by a doctor who stopped driving it after 20 years, this car originally was to be procured by the Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum but sat because many thought the engine to be seized. At this point the current owner bought the car, discovered that the engine still rotated and had it rebuilt to its current state. Although the car runs without issue and has been on several rallies, the owner has an open two-seater and prefers to drive that.

Photographs of the serial numbers and undercarriage available upon request.

Although this is a 1964 Jaguar, it has been well-cared for and has minor rust thanks to spending its life in the American South. The car was repainted in its original Imperial Maroon, but could use redoing. Service records and receipts on hand document work done by The Auto Shop using quality parts from Welsh Enterprises and SNG Barratt, two well-known Jaguar parts distributors. The block remained in the car during its rehabilitation, and a top-to-bottom refresh was performed.

Rebuilt head - new valve springs, guides, gaskets, camshaft bearings

Rebuilt block - piston rings, rod bearings, rear main seal, oil pan gasket, rear seal, XJ6 front crank seal

New seats/headliner - black leather interior with correct Wilton wool carpet

Braking system and clutch system overhauled
Cooling upgrades - radiator, header tank, 16" electric fan
Electric cap and distributor
New Coker 3/8" Redline tires
Original wire wheels
New exhaust
Price: $79,959 obo

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
