Sellers description:
This nice Jaguar Coupe was built on June 27th of 1967 (a later built 1967 original non-covered head lamp car) and dispatched on July 6, of 1967. It's had two owners since new and is an original California car. The second owner bought this car in 1969 with about 16,000 miles on the car. He drove it until 1973 when his son was born and at that time it had 32,000 miles. It sat and was mostly off the road in a garage from 1973 to 1995. He had new bearings, rings and gaskets as it had been sitting so long. In addition, the disc cylinders are now stainless steel with stainless steel brake lines. It was gone through to make it a nice driver again. The car has very low miles of 34,862 original and actual miles. It has been in CA for almost all its life except when it came to NC this spring of 2011. It has an older repaint that still looks presentable on the car with some flaws in the paint. This is the original color combination of Primrose Yellow with black interior. The interior on this Jaguar is all original. It does show patina, but is in excellent shape for its age. In addition, this car has the original tools, tool bag, (I ordered a new bag as the old was falling apart) original jack and hammer. A Jaguar Daimler Certificate is included to confirm authenticity and numbers matching.
This E-type Coupe runs and drives excellent. Furthermore, it has a lot of torque and immediate power. The compression is 155psi to 168psi across all 6 cylinders. Also, the oil pressure is 40 pounds at idle. It is a lot of fun to drive with plenty of power. The Jaguar E-type shown here is very tight to the road and performs brilliantly!
Paint/body: This car was repainted some time ago and shows signs of its age. The paint looks great from 10 feet away and when you get closer you can see some of the flaws as to be expected from an older repaint. There is cracking on the hood from the old paint on the car. The vents on the bonnet have some imperfections/paint lifting from the heat of the exhaust manifolds s can be seen in the picture below. This is pretty common on original cars. They did not have heat shields over the manifolds in this year. There are also a few small areas on the bonnet where someone rubbed on the paint a little too far. The paint is presentable and shiny. Someone may choose to repaint the car, but to have a nice driver car the paint is okay. The seals and molding on the body look mostly original. The chrome around the windshield will not stay because the molding is hard and original. If someone wanted this molding there, they would have to replace the window seal.
Chrome: The chrome on this car looks to be mostly original and does have pitting on the bumpers and some areas on the car. It is presentable as a driver, but is original and has the kind of flaws you would expect on a 44 year old car. Not from abuse, just age.
Interior: The interior is original. The seats and upholstery show original patina and in pretty good condition for being as old as they are. The carpets also are original and are in nice shape. You can lift the original carpets to see how nice the original floors are on this car. The steering wheel is a Nardi replacement steering wheel and looks and feels great. In addition, the headliner is in great original shape with no sags or stains. The dash does not have any cracks and all the gauges look good. Everything appears to be working as it should including interior lights, map lights, fans, vents, head lamps, markers, high beams, hazard lights, horn, all gauges and wipers. This car has the original radio and it actually works!!!
Wheels/Tires: The wheels are the original chrome wire wheels that came on the car. They are good shape, but do show some discolor and rust. The knock offs are new. The tires are new Michelin tires.
Underside/floors: The underside is solid. The floors are original and as solid as they can be. The rockers are in good shape. There is no rust on this car, as it is solid and clean. The area under the spare tire compartment is very clean and there are no dents. The original exhaust was changed out for a 4 pipe system that sounds amazing! This was very common in this era to replace the exhaust with all the muscle cars to get a louder or stronger sound to come out of the car. Overall, the underside is impressive for an original car that is 44 years old.
Spare Tire Compartment/Tools etc.: The spare tire compartment is very clean and original. The original insulation for under the tire and behind the tire is still there from 1967. It is body color as well, but has never been painted. One of the nicest original spare tire compartments you will find on a 1967 car. The spare wheel is original and I believe the spare tire is original as well. The tools are complete and I bought a new Jaguar tool roll to place them in. I do have the original tool roll, but it is falling apart. This Jaguar also has the original Jack and hammer.
Engine Compartment: The engine compartment is clean. It is not overly detailed, but looks original. The frame rails are the original colors for the car as they should be. The underside of the hood looks like it was repainted when the car was repainted and does look nice. The engine itself has not been polished, but is still clean. A person could spend some time detailing in the engine bay if they wish, but it really does not need it.
Overall: This is an excellent original car with great ownership history and low miles. It was very well cared for and not abused. This is NOT a tired old car that is original and cannot be driven. It is all ready to go. This car can be driven anywhere and feels similar to the way it did when the car was new. It is very quick and a lot of fun to drive. I would not say this is a show car or trailer queen, rather a nice original e-type coupe that can be enjoyed and improved over time if the new owner chooses.

Car to be at auction 10/12

Auction description:
Lot 125 - 1967 Jaguar E-Type Series 1 4.2 Fixedhead Coupe
Estimate: £45,000 - £55,000
Registration Number: JUF 415E
Chassis Number: 1E34508
This original Jaguar E-type Series I coupe is a rare find. Built on June 27th 1967 and dispatched on July 6th 1967 when it was delivered to California. Before being repatriated to Great Britain last year. It's had two owners since new.
Since its return to the UK, JUF 415E has undergone a restoration by one of the best restorers in the E-type business and is now presented in 'mint' condition throughout. The mileage of 34,862 is believed by the vendor to be genuine.
The all original matching number California car has been repainted in its original colour of primrose, whist the interior still maintains its original seats and headlining. The quality of the work undertaken on this car has to be seen to be believed. Arguably the best E-type Coys has had the pleasure to offer in a number of years.
