I am interested in the history of this car, who were the owner, an when and why the engine has been changed. I also would like to know were the original engine has left

Hannes,
your car is powered by 420 saloon engine, early 67 model, which has the same straight port cylinder head like the original E type engine.

Hi Hannes, see my car 1E16769 with engine nr. 7E16383-9 (and stamped on the engine), the same engine nr. as you have on your car data plate. Strange...very strange! Please contact me under e-mail peterbisseling@hotmail.com.

as I'm still owing the above described car I'm still trying to find out the secret about my engine.

As I'm planning to restore the body, I'd like to know more about the engine, especially as I discoverd serveral numbers around it.

On the Motorblock

  • above the oil filter there is the number 7F2860-9
  • a little bit further up to the front there is the number C27110FF

On the Head

  • on the other side of the chain cover there is the number 7E4873-9
  • the rear stamping of the head shows the number CE934

Who can help me with the confusion, because the plate shows '# 7E16383-9 as writen above. I suppose, my engine is puzzled by Jaguar severel motors

best regards

Hannes
