This 1967 Jaguar XKE Series I 2+2 coupe was purchased by the seller in 2004, and it subsequently has been repainted in British Racing Green, the black leather upholstery has been redone, and the 4.2-liter inline-six has been rebuilt. Equipment includes a three-speed automatic transmission, a limited-slip differential, 15″ wire wheels, power-assisted disc brakes, triple SU carburetors, electronic ignition, a dual exhaust system, enclosed headlights, and a wood-rimmed Personal steering wheel. Other work performed since 2009 involved installing an aluminum radiator and replacing the battery tray, wiring harness, blower motor, fuel tank, wheels, steering rack, and wheel cylinders. This XKE is now offered with service records and a clean Oregon title in the seller’s name.
Replacement chrome-finished 15″ wire wheels are secured by two-eared knock-offs and are mounted with 205/75 Kingstar Radial tires. Braking is provided by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors. The steering rack was replaced in 2011, and the wheel cylinders and wire wheels also were replaced under current ownership.
The 2+2 cabin features seating surfaces that were reupholstered in black leather in 2023, according to the seller. Interior appointments include color-coordinated door panels and dash trim, gray carpeting, front lap belts, and a heater.
The wood-rimmed Personal steering wheel frames a Smiths 160-mph speedometer and 6k-rpm tachometer, while auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and voltage are located at the center of the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 85k miles, approximately 10k of which were added under current ownership, with 2k miles accumulated since the engine rebuild.
The 4.2-liter inline-six features triple SU carburetors and was factory rated at 265 horsepower and 283 lb-ft of torque. The seller states that the engine was rebuilt in 2020, after the fuel tank and the wiring harness had been replaced in 2009 and the dual exhaust system was renewed in 2018. An aluminum radiator and header tank, an auxiliary electric cooling fan, electronic ignition, and open-element air cleaners have been adapted. The battery tray and the blower motor also were replaced under current ownership.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a Borg-Warner three-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. The seller notes that the transmission’s kickdown functionality is inoperable.
