Auction description:
Lot Listing #529 1968 Jaguar E-Type Series 1.5 2+2
VIN: 1E78292BW
The XKE or E-Type is iconic and are one of the greatest sportscars of all time. This car comes from an Oregon estate and was owned and loved over 25 years. Exceptional quality and great road manners. 4.2L 6-cylinder is the high horsepower variant with nearly 100 more horsepower than the later series 2 (Pre-EPA) models. Wonderfully well kept. A blue-chip investment. Sold to settle an estate.

ASKING $75,000 OR BEST REASONABLE OFFER. Bought vehicle from dealer in Bremerton, WA in March 2024. Dealer bought it from family whose elder husband/father that drove it, passed away. Have copy of that title. According to son, the father had car for over 20 years and person he bought it from, also, had it about 20 years. Vehicle was transported cross country in closed transporter to East Hartford, CT. In June I took car to classic car shop to go through car and identify issues for possible fixes. Resulted in over $14,000 invested for the following:
Installed new Michelin 185/70VR15 tires. Performed alignment. Have two extra new Coker tires that would go with car.
Installed new coil, spark plugs, wires, cap, rotor and tuned car.
Replaced water pump, thermostat, gaskets and filled with new coolant.
Changed oil, filter; removed oil pan; cleaned and installed new drain pan gasket.
Removed valve covers, cleaned them and replaced gaskets.
Rebuilt carburetors.
Adjusted front torsion bars – had to disassemble suspension to do it.
Installed new front shocks.
Replaced manifold gasket, front exhaust manifold and exhaust seal ring.
Installed new header, cleaned old donut gaskets.
