Seller's description:
1970 Jaguar E-Type $45,000
Location Golden, CO
Chassis/VIN 1R11084
Mileage 41,297 Miles
Nice running and driving 1970 Jaguar E-type. Great opportunity for someone to enjoy this classic roadster! Has been in my family since 1982 and always garaged. I purchased the car from my dad in New Jersey in 1992 then relocated to Florida before moving and registering the car in Colorado in 1998. The air conditioning and radio had been removed from the car by the prior owner before my father purchased it. Recent service included replacing the brake master cylinder, fuel pump, tune up, new cooling fan motors and rebuilding the tach. Heritage Certificate indicates the car was manufactured in October, 1969 and has matching chassis, engine and body numbers. The transmission appears to be original, however the gearbox number could not be located without dismantling the interior and transmission tunnel cover so did not provide this to Jaguar for the benefit of the Heritage certificate.
Paint and exterior
Painted the current red prior to 1982. The paint still looks good and is showing its age with some scratches and dings. Convertible top is original and functions well. There is a small crack in the clear plastic window.
Upholstery and interior
Black leather interior is mostly original. The passenger seat cover was replaced. The gauges and switches all work.
Mileage
Prior owner noted the mileage was 31,420 in Sep. 1980. My dad's notes show the car had 36,000 when purchased March, 1982 and the OD read 393. The OD currently reads 5,297 so mileage of 42k is accurate to the best of my knowledge.
Wheels and tires
205/70/15 Pirelli P4 tires on the original factory wire wheels
Brakes
Brake master cylinder replaced 11/22. Brakes feel solid and the car stops straight.
