Car to be at auction 4/12
www.coys.co.uk/auction.php

Auction description:
Lot 141 - 1970 Jaguar E-Type Series II Roadster
Estimate: £27,000 - £32,000
Registration Number: TBC
Chassis Number: 1R 1702

This E-type is a Series II, featuring open headlights without glass covers, a better cooling system and brakes far superior to those of the Series I. UK specification cars also came with triple SUs and the much tighter valve clearances than US specification cars -this means that today the UK specification is particularly desirable.

The interior was also redesigned for this Series II, the rocker switches on the dash being substituted for toggle switches. New seats were fitted, which were certainly more generous than their predecessors, allowing for longer journeys of effortless comfort. Further, air conditioning and power steering were available as factory options.

Delivered New by dealers 'Richies of Glasgow' to one Mr E Scott of East Kilbride, finished in the period colour of Pale Primrose, this delightful matching numbers Series II retains that colour to this day. With a black leather interior - displaying a beautifully worn patina - and a black hood, this vehicle comes complete with a comprehensive history file, including its original green log book, and a variety of MoT's dating back to the 1970s.

Owned by a well know Hampshire Jaguar enthusiast and collector, this original, unaltered Right Hand Drive car is a vehicle to be used and enjoyed. Mechanically in excellent order throughout, this is certainly an opportunity not to be missed - the current market suggests this may be one of the last chances to acquire an E-type roadster for under £35,000.

Please note the private plate on this vehicle is not included in the sale.
