Sellers description:
1969 Jaguar XKE coupe that would make a excellent canidate for your next classic British restoration. This is a early series 2 XKE coupe. This is not a 2 plus 2. This car has been in storage in southern California for the past 23 years. This XKE was originally green in color. The best feature of this car is that it is 96% complete. The items that I find missing are the rear window trim, the headlight eyebrows and trim, the hood back grille, the front side marker lights, and the steering column surround. The car does have a very nice original wood steering wheel, a Phillips European AM/FM/SW radio, and Koni front shocks. The body of this car should be stripped to bare metal and repaired as necessary. The front has been damaged in the past and repaired poorly, The back has has some body filler as well. The big question, How much rust is there? The drivers floor will need to be replaced, and the trunk floor as well. One frame tube, by the battery has a hole from corrosion. There is some rust appearing in the drivers lower fenders front and back. All these parts are readily available. This car has the 4.2 6 cylinder engine with the 2 Stromberg carburetors for the US market. The engine turns over by hand with no problems. The engines appears to be complete and intact. The transmission is a four speed manual and goes into the gears fine. The interior is complete and in good condition for its age. The dash does have some cracking. The seats have no tears or crack and the headrest are excellent. This comes with the original Kangol seat belts. The carpet is complete, the front floor carpets were removed for pictures. This has a very nice wirewheel spare with a original Michelin redline tire. This comes with the knock off tool. This car has a clean California title.
