Ebay item 6/8/15
www.ebay.com/itm/Jaguar-E-Type-Series-II-2-2-/171817990193
Opening bid US $10,000 reserve not met no bids 6 days left in auction. 86k miles.

Sellers description:
I have had this car for 12 years and didn't drive it much at all (less than a hundred miles). Bought it out of La Habra, Ca. Judging by the condition of the car I believe it spent its life in Ca. (still has black plate on rear). I always wanted a Jag, bought one and decided it was too expensive to restore. Took me 12 years to decide to let someone else finish the job. I started it regularly, changed oil recently but really did not get to know the car very well. I have no idea whether or not this is a numbers matching car. Not even sure on where to look.

This 1969 XKE starts right up and runs good. The 4 speed transmission shifts smooth and doesn't seem to have any issues. Mechanically the Jag drives good. It doesn't want to idle at 800-900 RPM as it should but idles around 1200 RPM. You could drive it as you restore it. Needs a lot of interior work including seat covers, headliner and carpet.

The willow green paint is a good looking job but not show quality (it is still a presentable looking car). The fit on the doors and bonnet look good with no apparent misfit. The chrome needs some attention as it is crinkled, peeling and has some surface rust. The passenger side turn signal is broken. I believe all the parts are there to put the car back together (outside and inside mirrors, chrome around back window etc.).

I am not a mechanic and don't profess to be one or the car would be restored. I am not a Jag expert but will take more pics of anything that needs to be looked at more closely. It would be best to see the car in person and not take someone else's opinion about an issue, but I realize that may not be possible.

This 1969 Jaguar XKE Series II 2+2 starts right up and runs good. The 4 speed manual transmission works great. It has a good respray paint job but not a super premium one. Body panels fit nice with good alignment on doors and hood. There is no visible rust on the exterior, only surface rust under the hood. The rear tire area and floor pans are solid. The interior needs a lot of work including the head liner and carpets. The tires hold air but will need replaced before longer drives.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
