I just bought the car from a guy who owned it since February 10th 1971. He was the second owner. This car was repainted to a canari yellow color. It was in service in the Phoenix area until 1980 when he stored it with carburators issues and a first gear issues. He intended to fix it then but never got around to it. So the car has been sitting in a warehouse ever since. No rust, but awfull paint. Interior completly shot and in need of a full restoration.

The car is on it's way to me in Montreal Canada were it will undergo a full rotisserie restoration.

I will upgrade to a 5 gear tranny, triple SU's and probably repaint it light opalesance blue (silverlake) with cream interior. I will re-chrome all exrerior parts and upgrade to wire wheels.
New rubbers and wire harness plus complete new brake system. and an engin overall. All seals and hoses, cables, distributor and other parts to be replaced will be addressed as need be.

Quite a program for my winter spare time, and oh! yes, it will be ready for next sprng!

So two plus years on the project is finished. Or almost finished, ther are always small details to finish but over all the car was back on the road in June 2012 as a brand new car. The engine was completly redone. New sleeves with new original bore pistons and rings, bearings, rebalances crank shaft, new valves and seats, etc...
I used an aluminium radiator with modern electrostatic fans for better cooling. A new smaller starter, water and oil pump 123 distributor, new alternator new suspenssion bushings, new rack and pinion, new Willwood calipers pads and front discs. Basicly new everything in the engine bay with new wire harness. new interior, new chrome, new gas tank, rear IRS completely reworked, new Springs and shocks, new wire wheels, new canevas top and cover. New windows and windshield. Removable steering wheel Etc... Etc...

    And now the fun begins!

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
