Car to be offered at auction 10/3/05

    Description:
    Lot 073: 1973 JAGUAR E-TYPE V12 ROADSTER
Van Dijk Collection, H&H Classic Auctions Ltd (3rd October 2005)
Finished in red with black leather / vinyl upholstery, this particular example is described by the vendor as being in excellent overall condition. Purchased from the E-type Centre in 2000, it is since reported to have undergone a "full restoration" costing in excess of ú70,000. Apparently completed just fifteen months ago, cosmetic work included a bare metal respray, extensive re-chroming, fresh carpets / mohair hood, new wire wheels and the fitting of a CMC custom made aluminium bonnet. While mechanically, it gained a rebuilt engine (polished / balanced crankshaft, ported cylinder heads, SU carburettor conversion), more modern five-speed T5 gearbox, uprated suspension (stiffer torsion bars, Koni shock absorbers), upgraded CMC power steering rack and new wiring loom etc. Believed but not warranted to have covered 61,000 miles from new, it further benefits from sat-nav and a CD stacker system. A stunning car, it is offered for sale with "all restoration bills and photos".

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
