Chassis 860071 left the factory in late November 1961 being a flat-floor, welded louvre car in Opalescent Gunmetal with a Red interior.
3870 DD was one of the first cars to be delivered to Scotland and early in it's life had triple Webers fitted. Eagle E-types restored and re-engineered suspension and brakes etc. The engine was rebuilt by 'Rob Beere Racing' now pushing out over 300 bhp. To many it looks standard but it isn't.

1961 E Type Series 1, engineered by Eagle E Types. Chassis number 860071, engine number R3059-9. First registered on 20th December 1961 and originally dispatched to Rossleigh in Edinburgh, it was purchased by its first owner on 29th January 1962. This exceptional E Type has a well documented and complete ownership history spanning over six decades and accompanied by a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate.
Under the ownership of John Stokes in 2007, the car underwent a comprehensive transformation by marque specialist Eagle E Types, incorporating all available GT upgrades. These included modern electronic ignition system, upgraded cooling and fuel systems and improved suspension and braking components.
Under new stewardship in 2012, the owner commissioned additional Eagle upgrades including a Supersport engine specification, quick steering rack, cross drilled brakes, 6.5 inch wheels, and the addition of a five speed gearbox, blending the charm of a timeless classic and usability of a modern grand tourer.
The car has featured on the cover of Jaguar World and was Best 1960s Car at the 2013 Scottish Jaguar day, showcasing the exceptional quality and attention to detail of its build. As a result, it is a fantastic opportunity to own a truly remarkable Series 1 E Type Jaguar, an iconic British classic delivering a turn key grand touring experience that's comfortable, exhilarating and reliable to take out on the open road on all occasions.
