Sold by Ranmore Fine Cars of Redhill in October 2024. Seller's description below.

One cannot always work on the assumption that everyone desires a completely faithful as built restored car. This Jaguar is a case in point, in as much, all the work carried out during restoration was driven by the individual choice and not by a desire to replicate a factory specification rebuilt car. Having owned it for 35 years prior to restoration, the Canadian gentleman having purchased it whilst working in the UK during 1970 and having used extensively in Blighty before he and the Jaguar returned to Canada. After a further year or so of being laid up it was apparent much work was needed, sadly a young family didn't allow such expenditure.
Leap forward 35 years to 2005, time and money now allowed him the opportunity to undertake a total ground up restoration. This was entrusted to Jagmaster, a Canadian Jaguar specialist who worked periodically on the car until 2010. Pleasingly there are photos on file showing the rebuild. The result certainly makes a bold statement as its dark metallic paintwork, evidently a non standard colour, looks fabulous. The darkened windows, again a personal preference, again look good, as does the Jaguar etching on the rear quarter windows, something I've not seen before.
The interior is pure Series 1 with some exceptions, the sills and luggage area are carpeted, a sensible idea to prevent scuff age and ware. It was displayed at the NEC by Heritage Classics from whom the current owner purchased it earlier this year, a change of circumstances necessitates it being offered for sale. A well prepared car with sensible and carefully thought out updates, it presents and drives exceedingly well. There is a Heritage Certificate on file assuring its UK origins and matching number status.
