Car seems to be completed after extensive restoration by JD Classics. Very early Roadster, first delivered to Switzerland. Very nice color combination imho. Car belonged to well know Jaguar importer E. Frey in Switzerland. Seems all the right bits and pieces are there and looks like some guy spent a fortune on this car. Concour standard in my oppinion, but of course did not spend hours to exmaine it.

Belive the Engine No. should be R 1078 and not R10178!?

875056 was shown on weekend 28th to 30st of September at UNIQUES SPECIAL ONES in Florence.
Instantly it won its class! Most importantly it went ahead of the 2012 Pebble Beach winning XK120 ex Clark Gable.
What a restoration, what a excellent car. Seeing the car amongst some very fine example of automobile history and ending in the class winner's cricle was indeed special. Is this a new chapter of E Type appreciation? As another E Type won there an other class as well?

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
