This 1964 Jaguar XKE Series I coupe is a non-running project that was acquired by the seller’s late father in 1969. Power comes from a numbers-matching 3.8-liter inline-six equipped with triple SU carburetors and paired with a four-speed manual transmission, and the car is finished in dark blue over a matching interior. This XKE project has reportedly been in storage for the last 22 years and is being offered by seller on behalf of his mother at no reserve with some of the removed parts and a clean New Jersey title.
The car wears faded dark blue paintwork and shows areas of scratches and chips. The windows, front bumperettes, door handles, taillights, and multiple trim pieces have been removed, and the seller notes areas of corrosion along the nose of the car as well as areas of body filler.
The wire wheels are secured with two-eared knock-off spinners and mounted with older mismatched tires.
The cabin features bucket seats trimmed in dark blue with a matching dashboard top, door panels, and carpets lined with rubber floor mats.
A three-spoke steering wheel features a lace-up perforated covering and frames a 160-mph speedometer and a 6k-rpm tachometer. An analog clock and auxiliary instrumentation is found in the center console. The five-digit odometer shows just under 62k miles.
The 3.8-liter inline-six features triple SU carburetors and is linked with a four-speed manual transmission. The car was reportedly last running in 1999 and has since been in storage.
Cylinder head stamping number RA 3895-9 is shown above, and matches the number stamped on the chassis plate shown in the gallery below. A photo of the matching block stamping number can also be seen.
Areas of corrosion are visible on the underside, removed parts accompany the vehicle, including the glass, trim, exhaust, and bumperettes.
