This 1973 Jaguar E-Type Series III roadster is powered by a 5.3-liter V12 linked with a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The car is finished in black over Burgundy leather, and features include a black soft top, four-wheel disc brakes, power steering, 15” knock-off wire wheels, quadruple carburetors, a leather-rimmed steering wheel, and a cassette stereo. The current owner inherited the car from their late brother in 2019. This Series III E-Type is now offered by the seller on behalf of the owner with the owner’s manual, parts catalogs, and a clean Ohio title.
The car is finished in black and features a black soft top, uncovered headlights, fog lights, a forward-hinged louvered hood, and a power antenna. Rust on the lower left quarter panel is visible, along with other finish flaws and touchups around the body.
The 15″ wire-spoke wheels are secured with knock-off spinners and are mounted with Michelin Defender tires measuring 205/70. The Series III E-Type was factory equipped with power steering, and stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes with inboard-mounted rear rotors.
The cabin features seating surfaces upholstered in Burgundy leather as well as color-coordinated door panels and carpets. Interior amenities include a Sony cassette stereo, wind-up windows, and a locking glovebox. The seller notes that the air conditioning is inoperative. There is a crack in the dash pad along with wear on the driver’s seat.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline. An analog clock along with auxiliary gauges for voltage, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level are mounted in the center stack. The five-digit odometer shows 60k miles, approximately 3k of which were added under current ownership.
The 5.3-liter V12 was factory equipped with quadruple Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and was rated at 241 horsepower and 285 lb-ft of torque when new. An oil change was performed under current ownership.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.
An owner’s manual and parts catalogs are included in the sale.
