Ebay item 5/3/06 cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-XKE-1974-Jag-XKE-Roadster-V12-Automatic_W0 ...
Opening bid $10,000 reserve not met, no bids yet, 6 days left in auction. Buy it now price $45k.
Sellers description:
1974 Jaguar XKE in beautiful condition. No rust or accidents ever. Chrome is excellent. All electricals are working, also factory installed A/C. Clear California title, 2 owner, low original mileage.
This long term-owner car is an All Original Time Warp; the only changes to it are the addition of a new English Haartz cloth top. It only has 40,000 miles on the clock and has been lovingly cared for its whole life. The previous owner lavished such careful attention on this roadster that when he had the carburetors rebuilt, he went through the trouble and expense of sending them back to England to be done right. The Midnight Blue exterior is matched with a Navy Blue top and leather interior. The chrome wire wheels not only look great, but are in excellent condition along with the rest of the original bright-work. Of course, she purrs like a kitten (a big kitten…), shifts and rides like a Grand Touring machine should. The four wheel disks work like new. This car can be driven everyday and can easily be driven on any long tour.

41,000 miles, on ebay 02/08, seller writes: Up for sale is a 1974 Jag XKE (the last year of XKE Convertible),this Jag is in Beautiful Condition, Midnight Blue with all New Tan Leather int with Blue top, Chrome is very nice, this is a CA car with No rust,it has factory AC.Clean CA title, the car is described to the best of my knowledge, you can come here to see this car any time, the owner of this car bought it off ebay 2 years ago for $39500.00, and an additional $25000.00 in restoration. When Jaguar launched a V12 (5343.0 cc/ 326 cu in./ 5.3 L.) engine in it's E-type, they transformed the car it was with an infusion of turbine-like torque (285.00 Ft-Lbs ) (386.5 NM@ 3500 RPM) and horsepower (245.00 BPH) (180.3 KW@4750.00 RPM). Along with the engine, other pore plush modifications were made, including rack and pinion power steering and power brakes. The last of series E-Type became squatter, using wider arches over trhe wheels and a wider tire. The radiator opening on the series III was much larger than that of the six-cylinder Series II E-Types, which is why the was was fitted with a grille for the first time. The larger opening improved cooling, a serious problem with the six-cylinder XK engine. This is one reason why the V-12 cylinder E-Type versions are more desirable to Jaguar aficionados: because they are practical to drive everyday. The new grill design also gave the front of the car a more aggressive stand; the roadster now possessed the same long wheelbase as the 2_2 coupe- necessary to accommodate the new power plant. Another reason why Series 3 E-Types are better long term investments than other E-Types is because Jaguar sports cars ultimately tend to be valued based on the last fully developed models. Tis is evidenced by the fact that ten years ago an XK120 was more valuable than the last version of the type XK 150, or the E-Type. Today, the XK 150 is clearly more value ble and the XKE, greater still. The Series III represents the end of the legendary Jaguar E-Type, and was rated for 145 miles per hour. This particular long term-owner car is an All Original Time Warp; the only changes to it are the addition of a new English Haartz cloth top. It only has 40K miles on the clock and has been lovingly cared for it's whole life. The previous owner lavished such careful attention on this roadster that when he has the carburators rebuilt, he went through the trouble and expense of sending them back to England to be done right. The Midnight Blue exterior is matched with a Navy Blue top and leather interior. The chrome wire wheels not only look great, but are in excellent condition along with the rest of the original bright-work. Of course, she purrs like a kitten (big kitten...), shifts and rides like a Grand Touring machine should. The four wheel disks work like new. This car can be driven everyday and can easily be driven on any long tour. On top top of the above mentioned, an additional $25K spent within 2 years. E-mail with fax # for copy of receipts.
