Lot 070: 1970 JAGUAR E-TYPE S2 4.2 2+2 COUPE
Van Dijk Collection, H&H Classic Auctions Ltd (3rd October 2005)
(View all lots in this auction)
Finished in red with magnolia upholstery, this particular 2+2 is said to have been the "subject of major restoration with bills amounting to somewhere in the region of ú30,000". A "rare automatic car" that was re-imported to the UK and converted from left- to right-hand drive, it boasts a "highly detailed engine bay" and "new chrome wire wheels". Treated to a full leather interior (even down to the boot floor) by a "special Rolls-Royce trimmer", it is reportedly "very practical and easy to drive in today's traffic". A "classic example of one of the prettiest sportscars of all time", it is offered for sale with "substantial file" (including a photographic record of the rebuild), MOT certificate valid until April 10th 2006 and road tax.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
